Real quick, I wanted to add a tip that really threw me for a loop… Deploy Sharepoint Designer from a management system, easy enough.
1. Download the Sharepoint Designer 2013 package from the big house …
2. Unzip the executable with 7zip (like I always do)
3. Execute from cmd (or Powershell)
4. DOESN’T WORK!…wait what? Unable to find product info???!
Anyway, heres the deal. For some reason, when you manually unzip the exe, you the entire package exploded, subdirectories included.
Instead, lets do this…
sharepointdesigner_32bit.exe /extract [path]
By using the built in extraction tool within the package, you explode the executable with a nice heirarchy and you are once again able to use the Office Customization Tool.
