Java Error – “microsoft jscript syntax error – compilation error”

Hello all,

Just thought I would share this tip with you.

Some people have complained of this error message when attempting to access a website that uses Java or has an embedded Java Application.

Here is a fix I found and it actually works….

Open an Internet Explorer Window…

From the Menu Bar, select tools….

This should bring up an Internet Options dialogue box…

Next, select the Connections tab and at the bottom you should see a button labeled LAN Settings, click it! …..

Now, you should be looking at a dialogue box labeled Local Area Network (LAN) Settings….

Make sure, if you are not using a Proxy server, that no boxes are checked….

Most of the time if you are seeing this error, “Automatically Detect Settings” is selected and in certain circumstances, this will cause the problem…

Please comment with any questions or concerns!
